A good time was had by all in Santa Cruz on April 24/25 with a great performance from the Geelong Football club of Seattle. We may not have bought home the victory cup, but we certainly surprised a lot of people (including ourselves) as to the quality of footy that we are capable of.

We made it all the way to the Grand Final after winning our first two games where we faced Santa Cruz for the cup. We had a minute of silence before the Grand Final on the field facing 24 santa cruz jumpers. Although SC had a very deep bench (we had 2 on the bench) we kept them honest up til the end, with a final margin of 25 points.

The umpires voted using a 3,2,1 structure for the best players from each of the games and two Seattle players came out on top. Scott McIntyre was voted as the player of the tournament with 13 votes - for his efforts Scott received a 5Litre bottle of Lindemanns bin40 Merlot. Our other star player was Justyn Shevlin who came in second in the voting with 9 votes. Justyn received a six pack of the best beer in the world (VB) for his efforts.

All of our players did a great job with the footy on the field and the beer can off the field. A big thanks also goes to Sean Dunne for providing coaching/encouragement/water during the day.

I've put together a bit of a list of what those that didn't attend missed out on:
- 3 great footy games
- 2 great victories
- 2 free kegs
- socialising with a great bunch of blokes
- 1 blonde waitress which looked better as time went on
- a dumb blonde bimbo in a tight budweiser dress (ask Brendan for more details)
- partying in Santa Cruz til they closed on Saturday night
- sore muscles where you didn't think you had muscles
- pictures at the airport from girls who thought aussies and football were cool (our new cheerleaders???)

So start saving for next year.
